Regional Retailers Acquire New Customers and Increase Loyalty Spend

THE CLIENT: Three regional retailers partnered with Cardlytics to acquire new customers and increase spend from loyal customers.

THE STRATEGY: Cardlytics worked with the retailers to develop innovative transaction-driven marketing strategies targeting two specific customer segments:

  • New Customers- Bank customers who recently made a purchase at a competitor's store
  • Current Customers- Bank customers who had recently made a purchase at one of the retailer's stores

THE RESULTS:
New Customers- This campaign was highly effective in bringing in repeat customers. Over the 10 month period, for every $1 spent on a reward trip, new customers spent $2.79 on subsequent trips.

Current Customers- Cardlytics was also able to demonstrate an uptick in spend from loyal customers. After implementing the strategy, the retailer saw a 67% increase in sales from current customers who redeemed offers.
